Democracy Defenders

Our Democracy Defenders program focuses on empowering young civil society leaders to stand for democratic values in their country. This means strengthening their capacity to act, not only internally but more importantly externally.

We work closely with young leaders to understand their reality, their needs, and their aspirations, to then build together a strategy that leads to tangible results to demonstrate how democracy is the best solution to society’s problems.

We are currently working with one partner country to strengthen its capacity to act internally and externally to defend their democracy. Due to the dangerous situation on the ground and the level of polarization in the country, we are doing our best to focus on the young leaders to support their efforts to build a sustainable democratic path for their country.
